in UK but has members in many countries around the world.
The site contains lots of interesting links for software
developers, including the review of thousands of books.
It is also the organizer of the ACCU Spring
Conference,
a software development conference featuring very high caliber speakers usually
held near Oxford UK.
Agile Alliance. This is a non-profit organization dedicated
to promoting the concepts of agile software development,
and helping organizations adopt those concepts.
The site is full of interesting links and articles about agile software
development. It is definitely worth a look.
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The oldest
association of software professionals, offers to members up to date
information with a strong bias on academic research.
Among the other services it offers (to subscribers) a very rich
Digital Library with full
text articles, and, to members only, free and discounted
online professional courses.
Extreme
Tuesday Club (XTC)
. If you are interested in agile software development (or
software development in general), and you happen to be in London (UK) on
a Tuesday, then is a good place to visit and exchange some ideas with
some fellow programmers. You may also be lucky and meet some
celebrities of the software developoment community, and offer them a
beer in exchange for their wisdom.
The XTC is also the organiser of the London XPDay, the premiere conference on agile software
development in Europe

The full name is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers, Inc.
The IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging
from computer engineering, biomedical technology and
telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics,
among others.
